comer fertilizer spreader?

I hope one of you fellas can help me out. My darlin" hubby bought a fertilizer spreader at an auction and was told all parts were there but we can"t seem to put it back together. The only name I have found on it is COMER, down on the PTO connection. Is there a place to see an expanded view of one to know if we are missing parts? Or maybe one of you could help me out?

Is it a metal or fiberglass cone, there is a spinner below the cone & it spreads the fert/ seed out behind as you drive? Would help if you could explain what you have...

Many seem to come from Italy & there abouts & are very similar. Worksaver has a full manual & parts list on their web site, pdf document you can save or print out. Try the obvious web site or search...

The cone is metal and that seems to be part of the problem the holes on the cone do not match up exactly with the hitch part. The cone has 2 openings at the bottom plus a center hole that a shaft fits through that locks into the spinner. There is an adjustable plate that also fits under the cone to adjust the feed. But we just can't seem to make it all fit back right. He may just have to chalk the $35 he paid for it up to a lesson learned.

Just a thought occured to me. When I bought my spreader and tried it for the first time it would only cast out to one side no matter how I adjusted it. I called the dealer and he said he would send someone out. It seems when they assembled it that they put one plate upside down so it wouldn't correspond to the center position hole...is there a possibility that you have all the pieces but one needs to be inverted to make the shut off line up? You have my curiosity arroused and I hope you can get it figured out...keep us posted...Mike in Exeter Ontario

The WORKSAVER site helped alot. Unfortunately hubby got the flu bug and we have come to a stand still for a day or so.I will try to look at it myself tomorrow. Sometimes a different eye can spot the problem. The info about the inverted plate is interesting though. As a matter of fact I think he thnks that is just an extra one. HMMM

Paul, I have a 3pt spreader and it was made in Italy, I can't recall what trade name is on it, I will have to look when i go out to the farm in the morning
