JD 1209 Mower Conditioner - How to remove hitch/to

Bought a JD 1209 and want to remove the hitch/tongue so that I can tranport it sideways on a trailer. Can't get the pin out, even with a sledge hammer. Any ideas??

Torch it.
If the 15lb maul doesn't get it out of there, get a tank of oxygen and another of actylene, and she'll come outta there.
