Grinder Mixer HP Requirements

My brother and I finish out of few hogs each year for butchering. We have been thinking of getting a small mixer grinder. I have a Kubota B2710 (rated at 27 Engine HP and 20 PTO HP). I'm thinking this isn't enough tractor to run a grinder mixer. I also have a Allis WD that needs to be overhauled. Would either of these tractors work?

I know a farmer who used to grind shelled corn with a grinder/mixer unit and an IH 240. Wasn't real fast, but did the job.

We ground a lot of feed while I was a kid, John Deere #400 Grinder-mixer. The tractor of choice was a 3020 JD, about 65 horsepower. With this rig we could grind a load in about 15 minutes. In the spring of the year the 3020 went to the field, leaving the Farmall H, about 26 horsepower, to do the chores. The H would handle the grinder-mixer OK, just took longer. About 30 minutes to do what the 3020 would do in 15. Your WD would do a good enough job. The Kubota I think would also handle it. Just take a little longer.

I grind with a Gehl 55, use a 35 pto hp tractor on it. I can overfeed the mill & pull the tractor down, 45-50 hp would be better, but this does work fine.

There are smaller mills than the Gehl out there, but not much smaller. 27-E might work with some, but that is low..... The WD should run smaller mills fine.
