Animal, According to the local JD dealer, the JD cutterbar is made by Kuhn in France. It is NOT the same as the regular Kuhn badged mowers. Most disc mowers are made in Europe. Does anyone know of any made in USA? Maybe Bush Hog? KEH

The New Idea/Hesston (and I think they are also sold as Challengers and used to be sold by CIH as well) is made in the US, except for the PTO shaft which is metric.

The Bush Hog disc mower is made by Kverneland.

Kverneland disc mowers are in fact Taarup I think ( just to confuse matters even further! )

Yes the Taarup design is the Bush Hog design. All other mowers marketed directly in the USA by Kverneland are using the Vicon name and design.
