I came across a JD No. 101 corn picker today, it is a one row mounted picker with one spoked wheel on the side. It is all there, been sitting a while. Does anybody know anything about these are there very many around, or when they were made. Thanks

Nick

Late "40s, early "50s. As I remember, it was called a "semi-mounted" picker, being mounted outboard of the wheel as opposed to between the wheel and the main body of the tractor. I"ve got a lot of brochures in storage for a while, but post on here in a couple of months and I"ll be able to help you more.

Good luck in finding out more a little sooner.

Early 40's to late 50's or possibly very early 60's, the semi mount because it has the wheel, some other manufactures had a picker with the row unit on the outside of the wheel as this one does but they did not have a carry wheel and were fully mounted. Early units were harder to mount as they did not have a quick hitch as later ones, early only had hand lift of snouts where later could have either hand or hydrolic. they also came without or with a husking bed
