Started out I was just going to put new teeth on the old girl, then bearings/seals in the gear box, new u-joints...
My dad let me buy this rake when I was 12 years old. That was 26 years ago!

Am I the only one that thinks 2000 hrs is extreme for a ground drive hay rake? In 2000 man hrs, you could hand forge every piece on that rake. You probably would even have time to mine your own iron to make it with. Detail obsessed people don't spend that much time on fence row tractor. Now maybe if it was a combine.....

 Shop rate?!? in reply to 720Deere, 03-23-2005 19:28:38
If anyone here valued their time at shop rate, noone would bother to fix up old tractors and implements. If you enjoy the process, that's your reward.

Old rake=$100
Labor=$1,000,000
Parts=$1,000
Grins when finished=priceless

Nice Rake!

And you are just as proud of it today as you were 26 years ago. LOL I know the hours game, I restored a NH 55 that had been left for dead and helped my partner in crime sand blast and paint prep a NH 259 this past weekend.

It looks great
