This is the end result of cutting an 8 row cultivator down into a 2 row version. The bigger models aren't used around here anymore, with the increased popularity of no-till. Saturday, we dragged in an 8 row and a 6 row unit. They are RG models (rolling guard) They sell GREAT as 2 row models to all the gardeners, food plot growers, tobacco farmers, and truck farmers in the area.

Gotta have something to do on a rainy day....

Been doin' a lot o' paintin' this winter. Shop ceiling is starting to get lower..... There's about a quarter inch of paint build-up on there.

(And it's ALL GREEN and YELLOW!)

Been thinking about doing that myself; got a couple rusting down out behind the shop. I think mine are RM models, but the end result would be very similiar..... .....Yours look great.

I've been finding 8 row and 6 row units for around $100. They'll produce 2 smaller ones, plus a BUNCH of spare parts/scrap iron.

In this condition, I can expect to get as much as $350 at the right time of the year.

Beats watching TV on a rainy day too....

Do you have a hard time finding enough 3pt brackets to make 3 or 4 from an old 8 row.I know up here a lot of them have been hit with the heat wrench to bad but the junk man has to eat to.

I got 3 sets of hitch parts with the latest 2 cultivators. (The 8 row was made from two 4 row models. seller had the extra parts) I make a hitch bracket from 2" X 4" angle iron.

I get them off of old (junk) three point planters, cultivators, or anything "toolbar mounted" A friend runs a tractor/impliment junkyard near here. He knows what parts I'm looking for. He saves all the pieces until there's enough to make a trip to his place worthwhile. The hardest parts to find are the "stabilizer coulters" on each end. I sell a few without those. If the paint is cured out enough, decals go on tonight. Last night, I removed the guage wheels, dis-assembled them, and shot the yellow centers.

When they leave my shop, they're like new. Some people will pay a premium for looks. I just like knowing I did a good job!

You have a good thing going for yourself there ,you are lucky you have a good market there people around here demand new. But if you check around up here all the spring comminunity and consignment sales you could grab a lot of culivators cheap as not to many people culitvate anymore.
