I have got the plow in primer and will be painting it in the next couple of weeks if the weather warms up. My question is was the john deere on the beam painted or a decal? If it was painted does any body have an idea as to the style or font of the lettering? If a decal then where would you suggest a supplier of one?
Thanks
Tim

third party image

K&K Tractor, In Shelbyville, Indiana. Just tell 'em what plow, and the number of bottoms, and you will get the slickest set of pressure transfer decals you've ever seen!

Individual cut out letters that resemble painted on lettering. Includes the decals that go on the back side of the moldboards too.

I don't have their link handy, but just do a web search for K&K Tractor....

By the way...I'm not familiar with the 412, but this is a 416A (3X14", built for the 420,430,435,1010.) the 415A was the 2 bottom version.

The 412 was the 2 bottom plow for the 40, no trip bottoms available like the 415. BTW, at least on the 412 the tail wheel was painted green.

I've got a total of 3 416A's, 2 with original paint. Both have yellow tail wheels. I painted the one in the picture. Thanks for the info on the 412...

Allan,

You might just be right this time....Who needs parts or accessories for a John Deere? (The ORIGINALS never wear out).

Oh yeah, they do have some IH stuff in their catalog. (In case us "Greenies" need a shotgun target)

Yours truely,

John
