Single or double bottom plow for 8n

I have a 1950 8N in decent shape. I will be plowing up 2-3 acres this spring and the soil is mostly clay. This will be done to put in a deerp plot. Plan on turning up some dirt then dragging the rest. It is a bare field that has not been plowed in 5-6 years.

Which plow will work best for this soil condition and tractor?

I was in the same situation last year. Couldn't find a suitable plow, so nded up buying a middle buster from Tractor Supply and a 5 foot disk. Used both on TO30 which is basically the same as your Ford.

It handled middle buster really well, but I had to disk several times to break everything up good, even with quite a bit of weight on the disk.

2 furrow will go in second gear but one furrow will give you more tractor time and what is wrong with that?

I would just disc. it very good and be done with it. That makes a good seed bed and causes less trouble with eriosion etc. Plus it also saves you one step since you would have to disc it after you plowed
