I have found my grandpa's Clipper 60 and was considering saving it from the fencerow, and the srapper. I was just wondering if these can have a corn head mounted on them or not. Would they do very well with a corn head? How do they do in soybeans and wheat with the grain head?
Thanks
Adam

Yes, there was a corn head available, but they are/were very rare as most guys were still cribbing corn then. Clipper is WAY short of power for that as well because when they were built 60 bpa was a heck of a crop. Now 150 is only mediocre. They do just fine with soybeans, whaet and anything else but do not expect speed at all. In a good crop of wheat, you can crawl on hands and knees faster than a Clipper. They will, however, when set up, give you a sample you can put in a seed drill. We used to have a Clipper 50 pull type and it was slow. 6 to 8 acres a day was good and now I watch the neighbour take off 6 to 8 acres an hour.
Good Luck.
