Ok, you said you use treated seed to plant your sweet corn. If you don't mind another dumb question, what is it treated with? According to my local feed store I can't get seed treated with poncho 250 or 1250 as it's only available in the midwest and they weren't even sure it could be used on sweet corn. I need something that will protect like it will, are there other insecticides I can use? Lorsban comes in granual form but it needs a insecticide box for proper application. Is there anything I could put right in the seed hopper with the seed? Or do you know of a seed company offering "bodacious" sweet corn treated with a good insecticide that I can buy in small quantities? Sorry to be so much trouble but, I am trying to learn so I can do this right and not keep spinning the preverbial wheels. Thanks.

Hope you have better luck with Bodacious than I did in my garden- Only thing I ever planted with a perfect germination rate of zero. Maybe I'll try again this year- it has to sprout sometimes, to perpetuate the species.

I gotta get home where my records are to tell you what all I've been using. I MIGHT have confused the situation somewhat also, as I was talking about seed treatment on FEED corn, and not neccisarily sweet corn. I've been lucky, and haven't had much of a pest problem in the garden.

I'll look tonight to see what seed applied chemicals we've been using, and what, if any warnings they have listed for sweetcorn use.
