NH68 Pickup assembly removal

I am looking at my parts book. Is there away to remove the pickup driven shaft. Thus allowing me to remove the finger pipes and pick up disks as a unit?

Kelly, if you are interested in a shortcut, there is one. Cut out the old cam assembly and install a newer baler cam that has a slot to slide the new one in without disassembling the pickup. Then you will need to buy the two pieces that will close off the slot and drill 2 holes to mount the two pieces. Not necessarily the easiest job, but a darn sight better then totally disassembling the pickup. The cam part number is/was 185562. This number may have recently changed. I can get you the numbers of the two pieces that close the slot, but your dealer should be able to easily find them. If you need more info, contact me. Steve

Not sure about a 68, but any other NH I have seen I would remove the entire pickup from the baler then start ripping from the cam side to get where you are going. Not fast or easy. I replaced a pickup frame on a 570 a few years back and it was a time consuming job.
