Hello,
A couple few years ago (I think) a fella here was talking about making up a plough on a three point to trench out to a pond for drainage, said it worked real good with a few passes. I need to trench 6 - 12" deep for some 1/2 water pipe and 2" pipe for underground wire. Any one have plans to make one? Would a middle buster work for this?

I've used a shank from a Glencoe SoilSaver. Held loosely on a skidloader bucket, and drove backwards with it so I can see what it is doing. Could do the same with a loader bucket. IF you reverse direction with it in the ground- you will break it. They work in one direction only. Make several passes and you can shovel out the loose dirt easily. I used a 4 inch twisted shank- throws most of the dirt out.

THE MIDLE BUSTER SHOULD WORK. WHEN I WAS A YOUNGSTER, DAD WOULD USE A SINGLE BOTTOM 3-PT PLOW, SHORTEN THE TOPLINK TO GET THE POINT TO DIG DEEPER, MAKE TWO OR THREE PASSES THEN WE"D DRESS UP THE TRENCH WITH A SHOVEL FOR WATER LINES. WE NEEDED TO BE 24" DEEP TO PREVENT FREEZING.
