I'm a newbie at this, but I am curious. I received a call from a man that wanted to sell a J.D. 2 row, 3pt. corn/bean planter model 24B. Anyone ever heard of this model? How old would you guess it to be? Or from when to when did they make them? Thanks in advance. Deamer1

Yes, there are a few still around yet, a good one will bring $400+ here in Ohio. Any 3 pt. planter is hard to find, especially with working fertilizer canisters. The more popular pull type #290 can useually be bought for $250-$300 in nice shape.

The 24B was still in production in 1969. I have a Deere sales brochure from then, listing the 24B/25B unit planters. They're extremely popular around here as garden/food plot planters. They use the "B" type seed plates.
