I am trying to find a good used (or new !) driven end rotor driveshaft for my old Howard Rotovator so that I can put it back to work. Solex/Howard says that they have no hard parts for my age machine.

The Howard part number is 52748. It is a short 2" diameter shaft with a large flange on one end which bolts to the rotor (this is a large 3 point hitch mounted 60" tiller). The other end is a 10-spline shaft which goes through the large chain sprocket-gear. I have posted a digital picture at the image URL below.

If anyone can help me locate such a part it would be a big help!

TIA,
John

It looks like you may have to check with a local machine shop and see if they can make the part for you. It won't be cheap but, it can be made. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.
