I stopped to talk to a retired welder in the neighbourhood today and eventually saw him coming out a curving estate laneway, placidly ploughing the snow with a battered old blade hanging by chain from the tractor's bucket. The "A" frame went back to the rear axle, I think, and he did an amazingly smooth job of snow removal with it. A heavy winch provided 3 pt hitch ballast.

Anybody ever do this?

Ive seen a few old Komatsu track loaders done like this and a few old Cat track loaders done the same way. It was mainly a loader butthe blade helped with spreading and roughgrade working. the same I dea has been used on tractors and wheel loaders a like but mainly for snow.
