I would like to buy a 5-6 bottom trailer plow. 14" or 16" does not need to be late model, but does need to be able to go to the feild. I have owned oliver semi mounts, heard they were the tops in plows. What does anyone else think?

I have a JD F-145H semi-mount. It really works nice. I also have a JD trailer plow, it works good also. Between the two, I prefer the semi- mount. Its easier to turn on the ends and it has a lot more clearance. The old trailer plow plugs up pretty easy if you have very much trash on the surface.

I have a White trailer plow. It resembles the Oliver 4340. I also have a set of 151 Ford semi-mounts w/o spring reset. They were made by the Pittsburgh Plow Co. so they are basically the same as Oliver points and shins are interchangeable. I recently bought a set of White 508 spring resets. They are the cadillac of moldboard plows in my opinion. Of course I know a guy that swears by the IH 720 auto resets. It all depends what your used to I guess I have plowed with nothing other than Oliver or White products. If you have enough hp than I would go for a 4 bottom semi-mount like 80 hp. I personally like the semi-mounts better than a trailer plow and I have both.
