Ok, Ive been wanting to add a right hand hay rake to our operation, but don't know any of the models, except for the NH 260. Can any of you give me some model numbers and ideas for a right hand rola bar rake?

I have been rolling around the idea of taking an IH 35, disassembling it, then reassembling it as a right hand rake. Been spending some time just staring at my current IH 35 to envision if it can be done.

Jim

If you figure out how to reverse your 35 let us know cause I'd like to do the same thing. I was hoping I'd have time this winter to take our 35 apart with the hopes of reversing it but I don't think I'll have time now. I know New Idea makes a right hand rake as well as a tandem rake hitch but I can build the hitch and buy another 35 rake for alot less than a new right hand rake would cost. I'd like to be able to rake the first pass backwards from a standard V rake (throw two windrows apart) so they can air out then by swinging the rear rake to the other side you could come back and throw two windrows together.

I don't personally like them; prefer the side discharge parallel bar; having had both.

The wheels don't handle my haygrazer well as it's long and stemmy, and on coastal bermuda, when the wind is blowing (always) it sticks to the wheel and makes a mess.

However, they are convenient when on 3 pt for going down the road to a distant field....but I don't have any distant fields.

My 2c

Just bought a dual rake combo. JD 670 and 671 with towbar, 9 footers. Probably 30 yrs old, in great shape, $3200. I don't know which of the two is rt handed, but if you need to know I can go out in the MUD and look. Ha.
