Missing paddle brackets-IH 550

Found a couple of problems with this machine, but nothing insurmountable sof ar. Rebuilt the beater gearbox; the bearings were shot. The drag chain gearbox seems a little jerky too. It being a worm drive, I sure hope the gears are in good shape. Filled it with lube. We'll use it and see what happens. Also, somebody welded the drag chain speed cogs to the drive shaft in low speed position. Not sure why, unless there's a stop missing.
Anyway, the lower beater has two paddles missing on the left side and one on the right, which leaves quite an unbalanced condition. I'm sure the vibration over time is what killed the gearbox bearings. Since the mounting brackets have broken off the bar, IH dealer says I have to buy a whole new bar. Does anybody know if weld-on brackets are available elsewhere, of has anybody fabricated any? I also can't believe the stinkin'paddles are $30 each. That's pretty salty for asmall piece of stamped sheetmetal.
