If you're talking about one in good shape, you can expect to pay very close to the purchase price of a new one. You MIGHT stumble on to a bargain, but that isn't very likely. I've seen some that were trashed sell for almost new dollar at a few auctions. PTO tillers have been around for years, but have just recently became so popular. There just aren't that many on the used market. Also consider what time of the year it is....Spring (garden season) is right around the corner. That will drive the price up too.

I have a Howard Rotovator (80") which is the best of the best. VERY high dollar. I also have a 72" King Kutter. (regarded by some as the cheapest of the cheap) The KK has been used hard for a couple years. Not the first sign of trouble. Like most equipment, they are fine so long as they are used correctly, and maintained correctly.

I DON'T know what brands to steer you away from, as my experience is with these two brands. But you could do well with either one of them.

(MAKE SURE YOU GET ONE WITH A SLIP CLUTCH, AND KEEP IT ADJUSTED CORRECTLY!!!!!)
