I want to change from a Vermeer 605c to a 605g round baler. Will a Case 830 diesel handle the 605g ?

The manufacturer states a min of 52 hp. That would be flat ground ideal conditions.

Your 830 Case should handle that baler just fine. Go for it.

I am not familar with that tractor how much HP does it have? You also don't have to put up a full size bale and this will make it easier on your tractor. There are lots of improvements over the C balers. Generally takes 60-70 HP.

By changing the main drive sprocket from a 13 tooth sprocket to a 12 tooth sprocket you can pull a 605G with a 55 HP tractor.

About the same as an F, I run my F with 85 hp, would think you need 60-65 hp to get along good at least - can work the 85hp some days. Don't know much about Case.

I pulled my 605F with a 76 HP in low 4 (6 MPH ) all the time made 1400 to 1700 # bales. Once when I was in a bind I pulled it several days with a 52 HP.
