I just bought a ac ca. It does not have much oil presure and I herd that you have to use a special kind of oil filter. I was wondering if this was true and if so what kind is it.

Our CA has the same problem, however we have found it to be a bad oil pump. Haven't touched it since, but hope to soon so we can use it to run the grain auger again.

The current wix/napa filter have problems. Rod from NH has info on this. I've used the fram filter and it worked fine, baldwin filters also have worked fine.

The guys on the AC forum suggested to use a Fram. C159??? I have the same problem on a WD45, but now I need a cheap, usable carb.

It needs to be an Allis Chalmers Filter.The off brands will not hold the oil pressure up where it needs to be. Also, there needs to be a hollow stem in the pan of the filter that goes up through the center of the filter. Hope this helps.

Eric, I had a "C" and it just took ordinary AC filters, I don't think there was anything special about them, did a service on my buddy's WD 45 and it was just an AC filter as well. Something you should do for the price of a pan gasket is take the pan off and scrape and rinse all the sludge out of the bottom of the pan, clean the oil pick up screen and put fresh oil in the crank, your oil pressure just may improve. Oil is important as well, on a high hour engine a heavier oil may be needed SAE 30 HD or a SAE 15w-40 and a can of STP won't hurt anything either. Have you tested your oil pressure guage for accuracy? Disconnect your guage and hook up a test guage and get a true reading. Good luck...Mike in Exeter Ontario
