I was just wondering how many of us read the replys to a post before we chime in. I seems that not everyone does. Let's have a show of hands. Thanks for your response.

I always read the replies before I respond if I feel there is a need to. I find it pretty entertaining to read some of the banter that goes on. By the time on get on the comp it's usually fairly late and most of the posts have answered the question. I truely find this is the best web-site with the best information and entertainment.

JC, I usually read the thread but I have had happen on ocassion that someone has asked a question that is still unanswered, and while I am responding to that question and then post, I am the third response...I guess that means I'm too long winded or type too slow...Mike in Exeter Ontario

After making a complete fool of myself on numerous occasions, I NOW read the entire thread, followed by checking the archives for any SIMULAR post from the "author".

Well, at least I read the entire thread first....John

Yes Ive done it then read that someone said it better before me and that I now sound like an idiot. That and the fact that my advice stinks is a bad combo.

Depends on the question, & the number of replies.

As a person asking questions, I would love to get repeatitive replies - as the internet works, a single answer is not always a right answer, and I would feel much better getting 5 replies that say the same thing and 2 that do not, rather than 3 replies and no idea which to choose from..... .

i always read the entire post, relpys and all before i chime in. if there's already good info from folks alot smarter than myself then i just stay quiet. if there hasn't been a valid answer yet and i think i might know then i give my opinion, nothing more, unless allen is having horse trouble again.

I agree. With Allan and the horse saga, it doesn't matter much what anyone else said, because your smart-a** comment will likely be different, anyhow. When a thread is just running on hot air, the more the better.

Whenever I see the word "horse" on the screen, I always reformat my hard drive just to get the darned taste outta my mouth, so to speak. :>)

I read them all, by the time i'm on in the middle of the night, there's usually some good answers. Sometimes I will add something from personal experience so that it may give another view. Just thought I'd also throw it in that the wife and I have horses.....but, with the beef market the way it is here in Canada these days, I can easily upset the cattle guys by telling them my livestock is at least worth something, AND I can still send it to the states. About that time I better be running for cover, but, sometimes it's worth it.

Did I miss something? What's with the horses?

I read all the posts. If someone says what I think is the definitive answer, I will usually post with "I agree with Paul" or similar just to affirm the answer. If there are a lot of responses, I usually don't bother. You need more than one man to opine on a subject to make it fact on the internet.

I learned the hard way to read first, comment later. And I always thought that I couldn't fit my size 12 RedWing in my mouth by just typing...

Allan & the gang have a pretty good running gag going on his wife wanting some horses over on the 'Tractor Talk' forum. Might want to look over there for more on that one, before there is an outbreak of it here on the Implement forum. :)

It's no gag, paul. Allan has become a full flege, high-rollin' horse trader. Rumor has it he is gonna start breeding them this spring. The first of the off spring will be named Allan Jr.

My reply there was kinda short, looked out the window & saw a heifer walking by. On the wrong side of the fence. That one is trouble.

I also read all of the posts before I answer and if what I think is the correct answer is already posted then I usually haven't responded, however, in reading the other posts about more than one correct answer being posted I may start responding more.
NOT that I have a lot to contribute, but I sure learn a lot here!

Paul, your comment about the heifer brought back a bunch of memories. Is "that one" going into the freezer before long?

No kids. :)

I have angus/ holstien critters for some reason. Of course, this one is mostly white - it's always the mostly white ones that give trouble here. Truck is coming this month to get some, and that white one doesn't realize how close it is to getting the ramp.....
