I bought mine about 8 years ago, and they are an excelent mill!!! I liked it so much i bought a new one not long ago, and there's been several updates on it compared to the older models.

The frame is "very" strong, and i never had a problem with bending ect... I sawed a lot of quality lumber with mine includeing some nice beams. Accuracy (when i did my part) is 1/32" even on the biggest hardwoods.

Norwoods has sold a huge a huge amount of these mills, and they are a very good company to deal with.

Get there video, and look at the mill in action, it works as they say it will!!

The picture is of my "old mill", makeing 2x10's for the loft i built in my barn, just before i sold it to a guy in Florida..

From your question, I assume you're looking to buy; have your considered building your own? Bill Rake's plans are very popular, although there are some others out there. Fellow down the road from me built one last year; don't know exactly, but I think he has less than $2000 in it including a new 16 or 18 horse gasoline engine; another friend of mine (farmer working on a winter project) is about half way through building his; plans to use a 9 horse electric (single phase) engine.

I wish I could comment but guess phone was off the hook & email was not working when I tried to contact them.
I'm a pretty quick study, only took bout 3 or 4 times of being ignored to make me decide I really wasn't interested in their product.

I don't know. the frame looks light to me. You get to cutting logs you don't want something that is going to flex and jump around. I'd want to see one run. If you have time go back to the Amish area around Spartansburg PA and see if you can pick up a good used mill. That's what I did. I think dad and I looked at a dozen or so and except for one yankee owned mill they were all for sale.

This is why my brother-in-law got rid of his. It was just a little to light in the frame but he pushes his equipment pretty hard. Traded it on a heavier (and more exspensive) rig.

I have had a Norwood LM2000 for about 8 mo. I have found it very strong, easy to use and the best buy for the money around. I would be happy to demo it to anyone who would like to run a mill. JP
