Gosh, thanks guys! I copied out your replies earlier today and took them out to Jimmy, and tried to get all the answers and info I could.He bought new twine, IH 9000 ft, not plastic. He isn't sure if it is properly routed - he didn't do it himself, but got another local farmer to do it who has a baler of his own (not the same kind though, I think). The thing on the back of the baler that shows how to string the twine is mostly worn off, and his manual is mostly worn off too. There is no loop or knot in the twine when it breaks off - it is not cut sharply, but looks broken or rough. Both pieces of twine break off in the same way, same length, about two ft long. He did spin it by hand, and watch, and it runs fine that way. He said that what happened was, he made two bales of hay. By the time he stopped, there was so much twine all wound around and tangled around the knotters and knives that it took him 45 minutes to get it off. But up to the knotters and knives the twine was running perfectly straight. Whew. Okay, hope that helps. I sure wish Jimmy could just sit down with you all to have a long talk.
