Anybody ever seen or owned a JD 10 High Density baler. I have a brochure for one and I think it would be neat to own one if I ever find one.

JD 5020 guy,
There is one in OK it has been at the show in Fairview the past couple of years and the guy bales straw following the combines. I brought home one of the little bales last year just for a conversation piece. The baler is supposed to be high density but the bales were rather lose and light weight. I don't think the tension was cranked down enough to make a good bale. I would think those wire tied straw bales should be like bricks. I don't remember if I have a picture or not, will take a look. I do remember that that baler really rocked the tractor and ran at a pretty fast speed. Must have an extremely heavy flywheel and plunger. David

The plunger speed is 95 strokes per minute. I imagine it did rock the tractor pretty good.

If I remember correctly, it was being pulled by a JD 60 standard. I checked some of my old photos but didn't come up with anything. Where are you located?
