Johnny's is good. Also Rupp seeds at Wauseon, OH. Stokes in New York as well as Twilleys. Also Holmes Seeds in Canton OH. All are trustworthy, I've dealt with each of them for years. The seeds you will find at Guerney's and local stores are usually older varieties that were in their heyday 10-20 years ago. Buy the newer varieties from these seed house and you will see a better improvement for your time invested.

Try johnnyseeds.com, I am in NW Washington doing the usual farmstand stuff and have done business with this co. for years. Great selection and commercial pricing as well.

The others recommended some good places to try. Like they said pay attention to the origin of the seed. Last year I got some cantelope seed at one of the big discount chain stores and it came from Peru and was a mistake to plant here. Check with local seed companies first.

A local seed house, Jordan's, has the best prices that I have seen. They are at www.jordanseeds.com .

I"ve had good luck with Landreth seeds. Here"s a link to their website. Also, Agway farm stores in this area have decent seed selections and seed potatoes. Local greenhouses have flats of seedlings at reasonable prices.

It depends on what you are looking for.

There are hundreds of good sites on the web, but you need to pay attention to where the seeds originate to make sure they match your growing conditions as close as possible.

Give more details and then I can reccommend a couple for you.

In that case I would buy the seeds from a local nursary or farm supply for general garden seeds.

If you are looking for top notch seeds, then the other posts had good sources and you might try Gurney's, which is famous worldwide.

If you are looking for the old fashioned open pollinated varieties, then I would go to www.rareseeds.com they have lots of unusual things there.
