What is a good width of rear blade for snow removal? I was thinking 7ft since that would be slightly wider than the rear wheels which are set at 68". How much do you normally angle the blade, would that make it narrower than the wheels? I suppose I could finish up with a few passes with the blade straight. Or would an 8ft be better but then you have to be carful with the extra width?

I think you are over analyzing this. I move a lot of snow with a rear blade. I use a six foot blade on a relatively small diesel tractor for snow removal so I can get into tight areas. Angle the blade slightly to one side and start down the middle of the road just off center. Come back up the middle offset to the other side and keep doing it until the snow piles are off to the sides. If road is gravel, try to leave the pile ON the edge of the road so you can reverse the process in the spring and pull the gravel back up to center. If snow gets heavy and you don't want to mess with chains, I have good luck with reversing the blade and backing down the last pass to push the snow off further. Be careful of crazy drivers, otherwise it is a fairly safe and easy process. Actually kinda of fun if the wind isn't too harsh.
