I saw a Woods loader on their site the other day and was surprised at how much it looks like Kubota's loader on my BX2200. I also heard that Kubota's loaders for the BX are made in the USA. Could they be built by Woods?. At least something is made in the USA.

I also heard that nothing on the JD (Yanmar), MF (Iseki), and NH/CaseIH (sabru?) sub-compacts are made in the US. I also heard that the JD compacts built completely by Yanmar are better than the ones assembled by John Deere - True???

Remarkable the sub-compacts with US tractor names are all JAP and the one Jap tractor with a Jap name is part american.

can this be true ?????

allot of compacts and their parts have been made in asia for many many years.. shoot even some of the utility tractors from the 60's were made in Italy, england, germany, Yugoslavia ect.. its not a new thing. Look at new cars. Chrysler is basically a german owned company now, makes cars in Mexico and calls them Chryslers. Honda (&Toy, Nissan), are Japanesse companies and build many of them here. go figure (of course the Japan comp's don't have high US wages to deal with) i try to buy as much US built stuff as I can if I can find it. I get irritated when the china made stuff costs as much as the old US made things. I like others to buy what we make at my company. There is good and bad to both.... just have to figure out which is best quality.. sorry more than $0.02 worth.

A lot of stuff is built overseas, but I disagree on cause. I have worked with a couple of Japanese companies and they do a great job. However, they are not low wage. Their wages in Japan are quite a bit higher than here. Thier enviro rules are stricter than ours. But the difference seems to be the Japanese gov. They will not tolerated unemployement. We have equipment in our plant from Japanese companies that have been technically bankrupt for years. Their gov. refuses to let the companies go out of business. The japanese would rather subsidize a company for years than pay unemployement. This is true in much of the world. A good example is Airbus. It was created by several europeon governments. Solely to take on Boeing. Boeing has lost a lot of market share to Airbus. Airbus has never made a profit. May never, but to the euros, if it employes a lot of people, it is good. And euro wages and rules are quite a bit stronger than ours. Irv

The 4010 series JD's are US assembled and powered by Yanmar. The 4020 series is US built and has a Waterloo diesel. The US built JD 5105 field tractor costs about the same, take similar attachments and does twice as much. It's a Global Economy, the US is just a player competing with everybody else. If we got rid of most of the litigation lawyers. Rid the environmental laws that are foolish and keep the sensible rules. And kick the lazy fat butts off welfare that can work but don't want to. Maybe we could compete better against other countries.

5003 series is all built in India. India does not import any finished goods. Everything is built under license in India or the manufactures like Deeer, Massey, GM are shut out of that huge market. More tractors sold every year in India than in the US. As for any other peice of equipment from any manufacture. Incluiding the 5105. It will have parts sourced from all over the world. I don't hear anyone complaining about the source of the 40 and later series of Deere untility tractors in the 1980/1990's. Or the current 6000 series. "Made In USA" is getting to be a rare term. Manufactures can't afford to operate here due to litigation lawyers and false workman compensation claims.

Most tractors sold in the USA under 100 hp are either totally built off-shore or assembled in the USA from off-shore sub-assemblies (engine, gearcase, axle, etc.)

However, 100 larger (mid-sized for us, large for them) JD tractors were loaded up on a train this past year & shipped to the west coast, headed for China, so that is something.... ;)

JD is building a plant in China no less. Don't believe this assembled in US BS they are foreign made.

Well, I guess you had to be there. All the companies are building ties with China, will be putting in plants. Mexico & Japan will be in trouble in 20 years....

But, none the less, a trainload of USA JD tractors were shipped to China. Believe it or not, your choice.

Everyone builts their equipment where it is cheaper. Most tractors in Japan never see a loader so most of the compacts are equipped with North American made loaders. The rims are also generally US made.

The kubotas are mostly assembled in the US, the new RTV's are built in the US. You'll never really know what is made where.

The only manufacturer I know right now that makes everything in one country is Kioti. Every piece made in South Korea by Daedong, the parent company. Don't know if that is good or bad.
