Need a tine bar for New Holland 256, 258, or 260 side delivery hay rake. Local dealer wants about $350 for a new one. All I need actually is the end off a tine bar to replace one that is worn out. THAMKS!!

Try another NH dealer, I got one last summer for $135. Thats just the bare bar, no bearings, or teeth. You may have already checked but is the ring groove damaged or just in need of a bearing in there. Only times I've had to replace bars b/c of the ends was due to groove damage. Bearings arent bad at all, less than $30 will change out the end.

there are actually 3 styles. The first used a stud pressed into a bearing and was replaced as an assembly, second design used tapered roller bearings with a seperate stud, latest version uses same stud as second, and regular roller bearings. $350 sounds high for a bare bar, I"d call a couple of other dealers. Also it"s coming up on "Open House" time for most dealers, so you may be able to get a deal if you are willing to wait a while.
