From a service point of view, I would give this machine a failing grade. I know they work real well, but as far as maintance, get out your pocketbook. Compared to a rola-bar rake, they constantly need something repaired. And further more, working on them just plain stinks. However, the farmers who operate them do say they really work nice. There just high maintance. The newer 255 seems to be doing a little better. Steve

I have the 255. Its the newer one with the bigger tires and a lot less grease fittings. I will have same problems with wear parts if I don't keep an eye on it. Does a great job for me. Only used the side delivery once last year.

I don"t know the years, but I have one that has been over many acres. Two problems start popping up as the machine racks up the hours. 1) the nylon wheels in cam system for the rake function wear out and 2) the roll pins that hold the arms in the carriers wear through and the thing starts throwing pieces of itself into the field. If you do what I eventually did and knock all of the roll pins out during off season and replace them, you won"t have that problem. I didn"t put pins back in though. I made bushings with bolts through (used lock nuts) to replace them.
