Starting to look at trailer plows for a Massey-Harris 101 Jr. WFE. ?? How many bottoms in fairly heavy, greasy clay? (Northern New York) Any other comments to be aware of?

2-12" would have been normal size here, some 14", verry few 16" as in some parts of country. Might also consider a single bottom with that type of ground, have that here in Ohio

If it were me, I would look for a good 2 bottom plow with 14" width. My Massey 44 Special can handle a 3 bottom only under the best of conditions, and sometimes has its hands full with a two bottom when I get into some problem areas.
