I attended an auction at a farm in western , Pa. on Sat. It was a divorce forced sale. With a 30 degree temp and an occasional 20 mile wind, it didn't take long to chill you down. Equipment
was selling for junk prices, so I bought some. When I returned the next day to claim my treasures, the other buyer was cutting up the stuff he bought. It kind of makes you sick to see good disks, plows , etc. being chopped for junk. Knowing the price of number one prepared iron and the prices he paid, I can't understand how he was going to make any money. Oh well such is life.

Possibly he didn't actually buy them, but was a "shill" for thr auctioneer. If they didn't bring a decent price, they didn't sell. THEN they got chopped up for scrap. Watched the very same thing happen at a sale near here a few months back. The guy who "bought" the stuff was the owners son-in-law. John

The more I think about it, I bet you are correct. I bid on everything until I thought it was too high and I then quit. As memory serves me it was the same guy I was bidding against.

I attend many auctions in WPA. What county was it held in? Do you know if it was advertised in the Farm and Dairy?
