Back blade with a wheel

Anyone have or used one of these? Looks like a good idea to control height regardless of the tractor bouncing up and down. Saw a land pride for sale but it was 9 or 10 feet wide. The wheel looked like it was far enough back to allow the blade to be turned around.

I have a Ford six foot blade which is set up for a wheel. Unfortunately, it doesn't HAVE the wheel or bracket. Been casually watching for one for a few years in the iron piles at the auctions, but no luck. I found a manual for this blade which shows it set up and agree with you that it looks like it might be a useful thing. The worst thing about back blades is that they react to the front end of the tractor. Seems like it would keep the blade from gouging your grade if the front end went over a hump.

Sounds like a good idea to me - especially if you can set your 3pt hitch to float. I've had the same problem with 3pt plow. Went to a junkyard and got a rear spindle and wheel with one of those compact spares off a small Chrysler car (Sundance?) Made a dandy guide wheel for plow - attached it with a 5" x 1/2" slab of steel to the side of plow frame, made a dandy depth guide. Maybe similar setup could be done on your rear blade.
