Can someone comment on these? They seem cheap enough - do they do a good job? What about reliability? Also, my main tractor is a Farmall 460 with the fast hitch - has anyone used one of these mowers through a 3-point adapter?

Thanks,
- Jim H.

I have one of the predecessors to CCM, a PZ-Greenland CM-170 drum mower that I bought new several years ago. It is their 3 point, 5-1/2' model that I use with a 45 HP diesel tractor. It is relatively simple to operate/maintain and it does an effective job of mowing hay pastures. The hay can even be knocked down due to weather or tire tracks and it will still cut it cleanly. The two big drums create quite an updraft when spinning. The only objection comes from uneven pastures, like terracing, of which I have a few. You really have to coordinate your mowing passes to accommodate terraces without slicing into their tops. Overall rating: 2 thumbs up!!

I bought one last year, does exactly what Hay Dr says it will do, have only cut one hay crop (about 10 acres total) but no problems so far, works way better than a sickle and for a lot less than a disk mower. Cuts close and won"t clog up.
