On my way to work each morning I see this old girl sitting in the the bushes 30 feet from it's much newer replacement. I've often wondered how crazy it would be to go see if it's owner would like to get rid of the old girl. I can't help but think there was a reason for the upgrade (ie it's busted), but another part of me thinks it was just time for him to upgrade.

From what I can see from the road it looks like it a 69, but I could be wrong. Things don't come cheap in Maine, but if I could get it for a low price it might be a neat project, or a bad dream...

Am I nuts?

(Well, I know I am, the last thing I need is another project)

Thanks,

K

He might. I don't know the guy, he's kind of a hobby farmer who's been upgrading all his equipment over the years. In my area everyone seems to want so much for old equipment, even broken stuff.

Maybe I'll pay him a visit...

I hate seeing things like that, I do my best to get them and either fix them or sell the parts off them so I can get more and help others out fixing these old thing up.

Im know the feeling a neighbor has a New holland 69 laying in his fence line also...I dont think there is much wrong with it...He uses large round bales now and i suspect thats why he ditched the 69 in the fence line....Less work easier to handle...I had a friend who pulled a 14T out of a fence row the guy gave it to him...He put a weekend of work into it and about 100 bucks in some parts and he used all summer to make hay for his cows...So i guess it just depends on whats wrong with it...i guess if you get it cheap and its to much work to fix you could always make the money back off parting it out???
