I'm looking to update my haybine. I would like to stay in the 2-3,000 dollar range. What are your opinions on good/bad ones. Thanks.

i have a hesston pt 10 that need very little work with manual i was gonna put new guards and section in it then i found a nh 489 and 479 cheap so i didnt both

Look for a 1209 JD they were a fine machine and it never gave me a lick of trouble.

If I were buying; I'd put my money in a NH "489" haybine. I saw one for sale the other day for $2650 with new rolls, skid plates, & a sickle. That one is sold by the way! Scotty

We have a NH 499 pivot tongue 12 foot haybine. Has a 8 foot rubber roller conditioner. Works good. Quite a few around and have not heard anyone putting them down. Have used it 3 years now. A little practise and experience with it and an operators manual to read instead of watching TV and you'll be happy.

Always hear good things about NH haybines, my older JD gets the job done but think I'll change colors for the next one.
