I recently purchased an 8N with a King Cutter brush hog.I cannot find a way to get to the universal joints on the power train to grease them. The plastic cover is all over it.What's the secret?
Also how does the PTO drive come off? I have tried pulling, pushing, and twisting the black plastic wheel which apparently locks it in.
Any help will be appreciated.
Charles

Solved my problem. Thanks. I called TSC and they said the collars slide back. They do with difficulty. Ralph Nader will be happy that I didn"t cut the plastic off.

My King Kutter PTO shaft housing came with holes in the bell section that you stick the grease gun hose thru to get at the grease fittings. You may have to turn the shaft to get the hole and the fitting to line up. It does work, I grease mine that way.

Sorry about the triple posts. My Computer hung up and trying to clear it, it sent the message 3 times.

Thanks:
Mine had no holes and I cut a couple, but still can't get the grease gun lined up. Guess I will have to cut a bigger hole.

Charles,
sounds like you got the same model i do. Your right, the grease fittings are a pain to get at. what i did with mine, and this is a BIG saftey concern, is cut the plastic housing off of it. Scary i know but i had mine twist the shaft and could not budge it in or out. So i had no choice but to cut it off. As far as the coupler goes, they can be stubborn but it does actually twist and slide off. Good luck.
