I used a 2-cyl WI engine off another baler, so they are both the same as the original one.I bolted a plate on the flywheel side of the plunger chamber so it stuck up about 4" above the top of the chamber enough to clear the plunger arm, just ahead of the forks. I then welded another plate across the top with a support under the other end and mounted the second engine on it. I used a 2-sheave pulley on each engine with a double vee single backed belt. Both belts go on the flywheel; the one from the original engine on the inside edge and the other one on the outside edge.I was advised to get the crown turned off the flywheel to make it flat which I did, but it might have worked without. That cost $80 and the 2 belts/sheaves were over $100 each. I already had the engine off my parts baler.I had trouble at first with keeping the top (outside) belt on, even tho I was careful to weld the shaft for it's tightener square and level. The problem turned out to be John Deere didn't make their pulley bracket square which I had also taken off the parts baler. Belt tension was a problem at first. Too loose and the belt would come off when it started to slip; too tight and the pulley would heat up. I start the bottom engine, get the baler going and then start the top one by tightening it's belt. This year it worked so good I got heavy bales because of it's not stalling. I didn't realize the hay wasn't dry enough. I won't do that again after having to replace 100 musty bales.
