traded for a independent manufacturing company, brush cutter, made in Neodesia,Kansas. It measures approx 4'3" across. It has a broken blade holder and I can't find anything online, parts wise.I even ordered a few manuals and all they have is blades. Is there another brand blade-holder that might work?It looks to have a pto like spline on the gearbox shaft where the blade holder goes. Also, was these cutters tuff or should I just buy a cheapo new one and save the hassle?

I also have an independent manufacturing cutter, which has been great, even though it is older than I am (I think). Haven"t ever had any luck every finding parts for it, though. Let me know if you find any sources. Keep in mind that a lot of people use the term IMCO to refer to International Machinery Company, who are still in the business of making cutters (I believe that they are out of Ohio).

Had a 5-footer with an IMCO gearbox on it that came with my tractor. Brush hog was all beat up at the time, I was hoping just to get a year out of it. Well, I abused it bad for years, clearing land with small trees, big rocks, you name it. I finally killed it this fall, but I got a lot of years out of what was already an ancient hog when I got it.

I did replace the stump-jumper pan about 2 years ago. Called 'em by phone and ordered the part, I think it was about $75.

I don't have the phone number handy, but think it is in a file on my old computer. If it still fires up, I'll get the number for you. Otherwise, you'll have to do what I did--get one company name and start calling asking for help...I got passed through about 6 companies before I got the right one.

good luck,
Tom A
