Do any of you fella's have any experience good or bad with an IH 1150 Feed Grinder. I am looking at one for $550 and was just wondering if they were good machines or not.

Thanks

I bought one for $350 to use for my small hog herd and it always worked good for me...I always used a oliver 77 to run it but i did use my A john deere in a pinch one day and it ran it fine...I didnt need it anymore and sold it to a friend and he still runs it every week for his cattle and still works great...Parts are easy and cheap to find...Those things are laying around farms everywhere...They are a good unit i wouldnt be afraid of it....

I bought one that was all beat to H*ll for $400 because I needed one..... ..... .You know, I fixed a few things that really needed it and it was a dependable machine! It never let me down. They were made by Arts-Way and parts can still be had for them. You can't go wrong for $550 IMO.

I know they sure didn't take alot of power to run..... ....I usually used mine on a Super M-TA, but I could have easily ran it with an "H" if I needed too.

I give them a thumbs up!

We got one that we use all the time to make feed for our cows and sheep. We used it a lot when we had hogs. It never has really broke down. Just a few leaks on the auger. Make sure you cut the PTO off before you switch it to use the unloading auger. The shear pin will break and we have had to rebuild that shaft. It is a good mixer, hope you have better luck with your scales.
