I have found a Didier PTO driven log splitter, but it is missing the PTO hook-up. Does anyone have one or a picture. I have searched the archives and google. I found the Foster site, but no pictures..... THANKS

Is it a hydraulic splitter like pictured on the Foster site, or something totally different? What does the pto shaft run, is this a screw type splitter?

Anyhow, pto shafts & parts are available at any farm supply store, you just need to decide what power rating you need. Common these days are square shafts or triangular. Do you have any parts at all, are you missing the whole shaft, or just 1/2 of it?

Paul,
The PTO drives a hydraulic pump. The section I am missing connects to the pump gear and then transitions to the standard six spline PTO and I think it should have a bar that ties it to the lower lift arms for stabilization???

Ah! Many many agricultural sprayers are driven that way. You may very well find the coupler in the sprayer section of a good ag supply store, as well as in ther hyd section. They are the female pto splines to a female coupler. Your hyd pump has a smooth shaft sticking out with a keyway and/or a hole for a bolt?

The bar is typically a simple angle iron that bolts to the pump body, & rests against the tractor swinging hitch below the pto. Or, chain it to something like a lower lift arm but watch for binding as the arm moves....

The brand of your splitter is not important at all. What you need is the brand or markings of the hyd pump you have, and search for that coupler. I will expect it to be very generic, and you can just measure the shaft size on the pump, & match the keyway/ 1/2 moon/ pin size.

Having said that, you could have a really different pump design, with a pass-through pto shaft, or something equally 'different'. Then we'll start over. :)
