A local used equipment dealer has a NH 411 that appears to be mechanically OK. Does anyone know the minimum horsepower needed for this item? THANKS!!!

I don't know where you live, but around here the hay grows tall and thick. In first cutting, I've seen 70HP tractors (mostly Internationals! Just kidding) almost down on their knees. You really should consider 80HP and up. Steve

Book says 80. We've used a 92 hp tractor on a 411 for years & it never seems to know it is working. I'd bet an honest 65 - 70 would be plenty. Careful, 70 hp Deere's have only 58 at proper PTO speed. 70 hp reds have at least 70.

Don't know the min required but my boss has a NH 411 disc mower we run with a 706 Gas. Seems to be a good match power wise, but sure makes the 706 drink the gas.
