Fairbanks Morse #40 hammer mill

Would like information on the rpm,s needed for old hammmer mill as it was converted to attach to a 540 rpm pto. Does not blow crushed/cracked corn out of blower that does not have a pipe extending from blower if that makes difference. Have sealed the holes to the mill but would like info as to possible solutions so that I can grind shelled corn or any info as to where I might get copy of old manual -instructions.

Used to run ours full throttle on the 560. Didn't seem like that was fast enough!

Number 40 or Model 40? I have the brochure for the model 40 with Number 140, 375, 430, 560 and 700 in it. 140 rpm 3200 to 3800. 375 rpm 2400 to 2600. 430 rpm 2200 to 2400. 560 rpm 2200 to 2400. 700 rpm 2200 to 2400. I believe they ran a lot faster than 540. when the hammers got worn out they went up the pipe too. Not a pretty sight.
