I have a Howard 10 ft. HR 40-3M05 that I need a bottom gear for the side drive gears. To have a new gear cut would be $1200. Cost is severe because it is a german cut gear. Can anyone help?

I need the Tractor part of the PTO unit for a Howard Rotovator model S-100 Serial #76870 30H. The tractor yoke is for the 1000 rpm or 21 spline. I could use the complete PTO unit from the tractor to the rototiller if necessary and does not cost too much. Lloyd

Had the same problem with our Howard. Tried to get parts to fix it. Found it easier to put it under an oak tree and buy a new one. Parts had to come from the other side of the pond and cost as much as a new unit.

I have some gears and shafts for a Howard rotovator that I got from a dealer that went out of business,if you have a part number I might have one,it is a slight chance but worth a try. HTH

I have a howard rotavator hth8176. I need the yoke that attaches to the input shaft of the gear box. It holds the rear pto shaft u-joint. The yoke has six splines.

I have a Howard Rotovator Gem Series IV .I am looking for the 2 dog gears. Part #"s G.439 Sliding Dog,G.452/2 Fixed Dog, G.452/3 Fixed Dog Rivet. Do you,or anyone you know,have these for sale? If so, how much do you want for them?

Do a search for a Howard dealer near you. Parts aren't cheap for them, but I'm absolutely sure that gear won't cost anywhere near that much through Howard.

I have an 80" model, that's about 20 years old. I don't recall the model #. I've bought a few new tines for it. Not at all out of line price-wise. John

Ya we do have a dealer but, they aren't very helpful with parts and act like making a phone call is like giving birth. Our nearest distribution outlet is called RM wade and their "you have to deal through us" attitude strokes me backwards. So I was hoping to find someone who can help or I was planning on having all of the gear recut to an American style tooth which would cost a fair chunk but if they went out again I wouldn't have to deal with the attitudes.

Ryan;Check the net for Boston Gear Company.They are a premier gear mfg. company.Thousands of gears off the shelf.Many are blanks, meaning the gears are not bored and keyed.They will bore and broach to your spec.If your machine has metric measurements they can probably also help you at a much more reasonable price.My dealings with them has been great.By the way what H.P. does your machine require.Thanks, Ol Chief
