are there enough differences between a NI 310 and a NI 323 one row picker to pay the cost jump between them (assuming they're in equal condition)?

We have owned a 310 and currently own a 323 and a 701 Uni-picker. The 323 and 310 price difference is slim here now in Indiana/Ohio. Back 10-12 years ago a, 310 could be bought for $750, while a 323 was $2000-2200. Now a 323 can be bought for $500-600. Parts are easy to get for a 323 and cheap. A lot of 310's have seen a lot of hard use, unless you can find one with low acres thru it. My dad sold his 310 for exactly what he gave for it, and owned it 15 years.

This 323 has hyd lift, the old 310 had hand lift, not a big deal with hand lift if you are using an open tractor.The rubber spiders in the husking bed do a thorough job cleaning off husks if you give it a chance, does better than the rubber 310 flaps. One thing the old 310 had, the 323 does not is a secondary beater flap above the first elevator.

The beater over the first elevator was an option on the 323. Some have them, some don"t. I didn"t know that was available on the 310, but now I know. If the 323 has this beater, it is your better choice.

Tim, I took your advice and checked with my local Agco dealer about the availability of the beater bundle for the 323. He said it was no longer available, at least as an attachment. I wonder if the beater attachment for the 310 is the same setup as the 323? Would you know? I really need to come up with one of these after the mess I had in super dry corn this fall. I don"t want to have to deal with that again! If they are the same, I"ll post a "Wanted to Buy" ad for either a 310 or a 323 beater. Thanks!

The snapper of the 310 and 323 are very close, only minor changes in bearings, etc. Beater should be interchangeable. Make sure you"ve got the extra drive sprocket on the picker to hook the chain to when you put the beater in. You can try Marshall Machinery in Honesdale, PA for parts, they have a salvage yard, might have a picker or two in it. (570) 729-7117
