Trying to identify this IH sickle bar mower

This sickle bar mower is an IH (16?) with a 7 foot bar. It was used on a IH 140. It could be an early 70's model. Any ID help would be appreciated.

Looks like the one I have I need to find a belt for mine but no luck so far, anyone know were you can buy a replacement belt. The local napa auto store was not able to help

Mr bleed green is correct,your mower is a 24 series mower built from 1947 to 1958. It can't be a 16 as the lift arm assembly did not go to the left side of pully housing on that mower. The 21 series(which replaced the 16) and the heavy duty 24 series had the lift arm end on the left side of the pulley housing,right above the pivot bolt and spring. This mower has the heavy duty gag lever assembly and the pivot plate roller assembly that was not either the 16 or 21 series mowers. After reading this ,it looks as clear as mud,so let me know if got any more questions and I'll try to help.

ihkovac: May I remind you the A-16 mower was built until 1953 and all that were built for SA tractors with hydraulics had same lift mechanism as shown in his picture. Sure, early A-16 were different, they had a hand lift.

Thank you Gentleman. The vintage is a surprise to me. I thought it might be a 16. Without knowing for sure, I took a chance and ordered the operator's manual that covered the 16A,16B,16HM. I guess I won't have to worry about sending it back.

Your mower is an A-16 first designed and built for the Farmall A in 1939. Production continued until 1953. Along the way a conversion was made for SA and hydraulics. It will bolt up to a 140 as will most implements built for A and SA.

That looks very much like the mower our Super A used, 140 Super A? don't know the number. We are talking 40's and 50's.

More like 1960s i would say. I have a IH mower brochure. Maybe your mower is a No. 16 but it looks allot like the No.24 in the brochure i have.
