anybody ever used a morrill wheel rake ??

I just bought an old morrill 5 wheel rake fair shape and was wondering if any one had used one and did it work ok. thanks mike

We have one, works good. Got it for $7.50 a few years ago at auction.

That's all we used for over 42 years and it's still going. IMHO the upside is that they clean up the hay better on uneven ground than the NH type rakes, because the wheels float. There's also less moving parts to wear out. If it's like our Morrell, the angle can also be adjusted. The downside is,they don't clean up slick hay(oats,etc.)as well as the NH type. I believe you'll be satisfied.

I don't know what kind my wheel rake is???? but its a 5 wheel. it works great. I used my brothers power rake and didn't like it at all. I let him use my old wheel rake and i had to go get it back myself. after that he bought his own wheel rake and sold his power rake. I live in central wisconsin and alot of people use wheel rakes around here. alot of them use them behind there pickup trucks so they can stay cool. wheel rakes are faster (generally) and don't beat the crap out of your alfalfa. My 2 cents
