NI Pickers What's the difference between 310 323

I am looking at upgrading from a NI #7 picker to a #310 or #323 1 row or 325? 2RN type. What are the differences between the #310 and#323? Do you have any idea where in IA I can find one?

Like Tim said, there isn't a major difference. I'd suggeset a 323 though because the 310 is getting pretty old now. Even the 323 is a long way from new, but the chances of getting a 323 in good shape is a little better.

323 has rubber finger "stars" over the husking bed to move ears, and the 310 has paddles made of belting instead. That is the biggest visual difference. There are small differences in the machine, like the 323 has more sealed bearings than 310, some of the bushings in the sprockets on 323 are heavier than the 310, 323 had a trash-beater option on the snapper elevator that I don"t think was available on the 310.

Tim, Do you know of anywhere one of the trash beater setups might be available? I looked at the diagram for it in my operators manual. There are not really that many parts to it. Looks like the components could easily be shipped. I"d like to install one on my 323. I had to run some very dry corn this fall, and the picker was nearly useless because it couldn"t push all the of trash from the broken stalks up the first elevator. Thanks, Doug

The salvage yard I know that would have one is a PITA to deal with, as they don"t pull parts, you do, and therefore don"t ship. That assembly might still be available from AGCO New Idea. They have lots of stuff in the warehouse yet for the Superpickers.

Yes, my 2 row (new to me last year) was about useless in the unusually super dry corn we had last fall. My old NI 300 picker could way outperform it...

Now this year in typical conditions, the 324 really shined. :) I don't have the pusher flap either.
