Plow question again.

Ok I welded up the worn spots on the mold bord so I could get my plowing done.
Question is. How big of a deal would it be to convert this thing to newer style mold bords and shares and such?
5 bottom plows go for next to nothing at the sales. Maybe $75.
I was thinking I could pick one up and rob the frogs and all to put on this one?

That is a 34-F20 plow that you have there. Looks like it has the optional break-away feature also.

Around these parts, a 3 bottom or less plow in good shape is worth $200-600. A 6-11 bottom plow is worth some real money.

Four & 5 bottom plows without the clearance for corn stalk residue are worth scrap iron - $50-150.

One of those regional things, he can buy the 4 or 5 bottom old IHC plow for under $100, and have parts for his liftime. It will be a long search & real money to find another 2 bottom....

You got that right Paul.
Last spring there was a 3 bottom fast hitch at the sale and it was worn out junk. I was gona get it any way. That is until they got to $700 for it.
Well actually I dropped out at $200
5 bottom IH semimount went for $50 and it looked like new.
Although the big plows are not to much here. Most big guys are no till. Or using that shanky lookin thing with the disk one the rear. Dont know what they are.

The bolt pattern on the frog and beam should be the same on all the IH bottoms untill things go metric. I have a 1 bottom model 90 plow mounted on a 37 F12 that has a 16" super chief bottom on it. It bolted right on in place of the old bottom that I couldn't get parts for.
